Proud member of the Austrian Hiking Villages

Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality

The Region Seefeld is a proud member of the Austrian Hiking Villages, which specialise in hiking and nature-based tourism. All members are regularly quality-checked. The Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality certifies the quality of local hiking trails with a strict catalogue of criteria. A selected hiking offer of the Region Seefeld was also put through its paces by experienced hiking experts of the Association for Quality Assurance for Hiking in Austria.

The Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau – extends over 1,200 metres. Framed by the Wetterstein Mountains and the extensive Karwendel Nature Park, the five villages of Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz offer truly diverse experiences. One of the most beautiful alpine outdoor activities is undoubtedly hiking - just put on your mountain boots and get out into nature!

All five regional towns are perfect starting points for hikes through the beautiful alpine world – for which Seefeld will soon be certified with the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality. The highest year round ICE train station in the world even makes arriving really easy and guarantees a sustainable and environmentally friendly journey to the Tyrolean Alpine idyll. The journey continues just as relaxed, because with the PlateauCard guest card you can also use the regional bus network free of charge.

Many beautiful hikes even start directly from the information office at the station: through the historic pedestrian zone and across the village square, you can reach the Seekirchl in just a few minutes, including the starting point for the hike (with resting places, sunbeds, a large hiking map and detailed signposting). A real treat: In just under two hours through the Wildmoos nature reserve via the Geiernest to the Brunschkopf viewing platform.

For a cosy end to the day, Seefeld rewards you with many beautiful cafés, bars, restaurants and sun terraces, a relaxing walk around the Wildsee lake (natural Kneipp facility included!) as well as countless power spots, sights and small oases of peace along the way.
