New trail offer in the Region Seefeld!

Leutasch, 14 October 2020 – Around one and a half years ago, a Tyrolean company took over the former Leutasch Kreithlift in the Region Seefeld. Since then it has been renovated, renewed and planned under a new name. One of the new projects: the Bikepark Katzenkopf.

After more than a year of planning and preparation, construction of the new bike trails at Katzenkopf started at the beginning of October. Four trails with different levels of difficulty will be created over the coming weeks. Both MTB beginners and advanced bikers will find what they are looking for at Katzenkopf from the 2021 summer season. The green, very easy trail will offer the opportunity to get a taste of trail biking. The blue trail, which is also rather simple, will feature small jumps, technical elements and natural passages on a flow route of just under 2.3 km. Beginners will certainly enjoy biking here and advanced bikers will also have fun. For all those who like jumps and speed mixed with rough, natural passages, the 2.1 km long red trail will be created.

The trails will start at the mountain station at the Katzenkopfhütte, which can be reached comfortably with the 3-seater chairlift. Bikers can also pedal to the start via the forest road. The first uphill trail in the region is also being built here – instead of on the gravel road, (e-)bikers will be able to pedal up here from the middle of the mountain to the Katzenkopf Hut in an exciting and varied way. The bike offer is rounded off by a new pump track and practice area at the bottom station – with a magnificent view of the Leutasch mountains and the associated infrastructure from equipment hire to the local bike school.

Of course, the kids, who were allowed to test the first jumps and sections a few days ago, are especially happy about this. Their feedback is taken very seriously here. They were also allowed to help out – after all, there's little that makes you as proud as helping to design your new favourite trail. The excavator pros distribute tools, explain the construction of trails and jumps in a child-friendly way, talk shop with the young stars about optimal line layouts and work on the marked forest sections together.

GM / Bergbahn Leutasch GmbH Markus Windisch sums up:
"The Katzenkopf Leutasch is to become really cosy, family-friendly and revitalised again. We are pleased to be able to offer locals and regional guests a new, contemporary trail offer from next summer. Bikers of all ages should be attracted by our new, legal trails."

Elias Walser, Managing Director of TVB Seefeld is also pleased about the start of construction:
"As a multifaceted sports and leisure destination, it is a special reason for the Region Seefeld to be pleased that the region's first bike park will be opened next spring at Leutasch Katzenkopf. We wish the team and all bikers a spectacular start to the next summer season at the Katzenkopf!"

A big thank you goes to the TVB Seefeld, the municipality of Leutasch, all forestry bodies and partial beneficiaries, the MTB-Modell Tirol 2.0 and the project management MTB-Agency. The new bike offer on the Katzenkopf is made possible by the cooperative partnership and great mutual support.

The Katzenkopf Leutasch Bike Park opens for the 2021 summer season.

So much biking. So much Tyrol.
We are looking forward to it!
