Sherrie Levine "Back and Forth" exhibition at KiS – Kunst in Seefeld (Art in Seefeld)
Sherrie Levine's work deals with questions of identity and authenticity. Born in Pennsylvania in 1947, the artist began in the 1980s with reproductions of - exclusively male - artists. Her pictures ‘after Yves Klein’ can be seen in the exhibition. In her bronzes, she also reproduced nature, such as human or animal skeletons, and falsified them through her choice of material. In many works, such as the ‘Three Furies’ (2006) in our picture, Levine's sense of the bizarre, of slapstick-like scenes, shines through. KiS is showing ‘Back and Forth’ by Sherrie Levine from 6 December at the Alte Feuerwehrhalle in Seefeld.
Free admission.
