PLATON - "Pictures from the Island of Paros"
World-famous are his “Portraits of Power.” Plato, actually Platon Antoniou, photographed Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bill Clinton, David Beckham, Donald Trump, Elon Musk – a Who’s Who of international politics and ShowBiz.
The upcoming exhibition at KiS – Art in Seefeld showcases Plato's impressive works from his series Pictures from the Island of Paros. For years, the photographer traveled around his home island Paros, where he spent his childhood, son of a Greek father and a British mother. He found the subjects in cafes, schools, or churches, such as “Monk With Folded Arms” (@Platon). Plato is regarded as one of the most significant portrait photographers of our time – and Rafael Jablonka will present works from his collection at the Old Fire Station in Seefeld starting June 13.
Free admission.
Twice a year, changing exhibitions featuring contemporary art at an international level. Thanks to the local gallerist Rafael Jablonka, this has been possible since mid-2021. Additionally, the association KiS, established in 2022 to promote contemporary art in Seefeld, provides an interesting cultural program throughout the year. With concerts, readings, artist talks, and special projects for children and teenagers. Elisabeth Gürtler from the Alpin Resort Sacher
