First address across the border

Lottensee Panorama - Seefeld

Keep loose and wait for relaxations

If you are allowed to travel again in summer, the Region Seefeld is the first address behind the Bavarian-Tyrolean border. The sunny balcony above Innsbruck and between the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains will attract visitors in summer 2021 with its well-known top level – and plenty of news.

Since vaccination dates have become more important than holiday planning, the holiday season has lost some of its light-heartedness. Will the virus let me go on holiday or not? Cheap airlines and cruises may not be the very best idea this summer – holidays just over the border are. And the first "holiday trip" on the way south is Seefeld in Tyrol. Because the region between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck offers all kinds of advantages for carefree summer holidays – guaranteed without a queasy feeling.

Short routes to holiday bliss
An average feature film lasts about 100 minutes. As long as the journey from Munich to Seefeld. Relaxed on the Garmisch motorway, then scenic past Mittenwald and border control and toll-free to Seefeld and the western gateway to the Karwendel.

If you're looking for environmental protection and deep relaxation – and records – take the train. Seefeld has the highest ICE railway station in the Alps. It is located at 1,180 metres above sea level. The journey from Berlin, for example, takes only 6:40 hours. So the summer holiday in the mountains already begins on the platform at home.

There is no substitute for real holiday quality
Hiking, biking and golfing in summer, cross-country skiing, skiing and sledding in winter: The Region Seefeld has always attracted visitors with active holidays of the higher quality kind. The south-facing balcony high above Innsbruck and the Tyrolean Inn valley always gets an extra portion of sun. The summer season on the open plateau begins much earlier than in many a narrow mountain valley – at the beginning of May. And it only ends late in "Golden November". In between, the Seefeld hosts – from the lovely bed and breakfast to the 5-star superior hotel – look forward to their guests from neighbouring Germany. Typically Tyrolean: all hosts are very accommodating when it comes to booking and cancellation procedures. Those who book in the Tyrolean neighbourhood can be sure that their holiday in 2021 will be a dream.

Seefeld Summer Fairy Tale 2021: one holiday, a thousand possibilities
Seefeld's top location is the perfect playground for active holidaymakers. Where the world's cross-country skiing elite crowned their world champions in the dream winter of 2019, trail runners and Nordic walkers will find their world-class territory in the dream summer: no less than 266 kilometres of trails! Hikers and mountain climbers can even look forward to 650 kilometres. Here at the Seekirchl in the west of Seefeld, the most beautiful bike tours towards the sunny side of the Wetterstein, Mieminger Kette and Karwendel also start and end – whether with or without electric assistance. Fancy some more action? There's a brand new bike park at Katzenkopf. And a new via ferrata at the top of the Seefelder Spitze. The Wildsee lake with its two lidos is practically in the centre of the village. And if you want to swing a golf club, you will find two fantastic courses at the two golf clubs Seefeld Reith and Seefeld-Wildmoos.

Really long enough to cook for yourself!
It's time to put the wooden spoon in the hands of other people (who have learned how to do it!) and to indulge in culinary delights outside your own four walls. From exclusive gourmet restaurants to speciality restaurants and genuine, traditional Tyrolean cuisine, the Region Seefeld offers a wide range of culinary delights for gourmets and connoisseurs. A hot tip for fans of vegan nutrition is the Naturhotel "Aufatmen" in Leutasch. Here, Chilean chef Viviana Patricia Valdivia Vera will be putting her creative ideas into practice starting this summer. You are spoilt for choice at "Taste of Seefeld". The innovative combination of the four lifestyle and event venues ZOMM in the Meilerhof, Woods, Paulys and the Bräukeller of the Klosterbräu sends guests on a culinary world tour in the heart of the region. Those who want to combine the pleasures of the palate with those of the mountains will find genuine hospitality and culinary summit experiences at the more than 30 mountain huts around the Seefeld Plateau. Really recommendable: the Nördlinger Hütte with its spectacular location, its many activities and its delicious food. The Rauthhütte, awarded by Gault Millau. And the Tillfussalm, with the best products from its own alpine cattle.
