The Eng Alm agricultural community comprises an idyllic small alpine village on the picturesque Ahornboden at 1,250 metres above sea level in the middle of the Karwedel Nature Park. A total of 510 hectares of pasture land are available for active alpine farming on the plateau during the summer months. During regular guided tours of the alpine pastures, guests can experience the alpine pasture life up close, taste fresh milk from the pastures or look over the shoulder of the chefs as they make fresh mountain butter and delicious cheese.
Big and small alpine pasture visitors are served homemade specialities in the cosy restaurant in the Rasthütte, and you can also take the delicacies back down to the valley in the adjacent farm shop. A modern mountain playground is open for little adventures, while countless other mountain tours lead through the Karwendel mountains in the surrounding area. During the summer months, up to 60 people can also stay overnight in the tranquil mountain village of Eng Alm and explore the Karwendel with multi-day hiking or biking tours. Locking and charging facilities for (e-)bikes are also available, but you will need to bring a suitable charging cable.
