Lake
The pretty little reservoir at the Gschwandtkopf is a bit of an insider tip. The small lake is not only a popular hiking destination, it is also worth visiting by e-bike and if you want to save some energy, you can even take the easy option and use the chairlift. The mountain peaks are wonderfully reflected in the clear water and you can see as far as the Möserer valley and the distinctive peak of the Hohe Munde. Swimming is unfortunately not allowed.
The artificial lake contains more than 110,000 m³ of water and it supplies the water for the artificial snow production in winter. The results are impressive and the approximately 30 snow cannons can produce 60 litres of snow per second.
The Sonnenalm at the top of the Gschwandtkopf is just a few minutes away. This rustic restaurant is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and affords a breath-taking view over the Inn valley. It has a large sun terrace with deck chairs as well as a cosy interior with open fire and is the perfect place to try some Tyrolean specialities.
