New highlight in the Region Seefeld

Leutasch, 10 March 2021 – After more than a year of planning and preparation, the construction of the new bike trails at Katzenkopf Leutasch started at the beginning of October. Four varied trails for MTB beginners and experienced pros will be realised by summer 2021.

Currently still hidden deep in the snow on the Leutascher Katzenkopf, they are already waiting to be completed – the first official bike trails of the Region Seefeld. All three trails start conveniently with the 3-seater chairlift including bike transport at the mountain station at the Katzenkopfhütte. But bikers can also pedal to the start via the forest road – and the new uphill trail.

The bike park starts with the green, very easy trail, which offers the opportunity to get a taste of trail biking. The blue trail, which is also rather easy, will offer a lot of flow, small jumps, technical elements and natural passages over a distance of just under 2.3 km. Beginners can train their first technical skills here and advanced riders will also have fun. For all those who like jumps and speed mixed with rough, natural passages, the 2.1 km long red trail will be created. In addition, the first uphill trail in the region is being built in the new bike park – instead of the gravel road, (e-)bikers will be able to pedal up here from the middle of the mountain to the Katzenkopf Hut in an exciting and varied way.

The bike offer is rounded off with a new pump track and practice area at the valley station – with a magnificent view of the Leutasch mountains and all the important infrastructure from equipment hire to the bike school on site.

A handful of kids, families and advanced bikers (like the local DH young talent Kilian Schnöller) were already allowed to test the first jumps and sections in advance in autumn – in the video they show a first insight into the Bikepark Katzenkopf Leutasch.

GM / Bergbahn Leutasch GmbH Markus Windisch is looking forward to the summer: "The Katzenkopf Leutasch is to become really cosy, family-friendly and revitalised again. We are pleased to be able to offer locals and regional guests a new, contemporary trail offer from next summer. Bikers of all ages should be attracted by our trails and have as much fun with us as Kilian and the kids in the video."

A big thank you goes to the tourism association TVB Seefeld, the municipality of Leutasch, all forestry authorities and sub-authorised persons, the MTB-Modell Tirol 2.0 as well as the project management MTB-Agency. The new bike offer on the Katzenkopf is only made possible by the partnership cooperation and great mutual support.
The Bikepark Katzenkopf Leutasch opens for the 2021 summer season.
