#CleanUpPlateau Challenge
203 participants collected 2.02 tonnes of rubbish together
Spring has long since arrived on the Seefeld sunny plateau and the region is blossoming in a lush blaze of colour. With the melting of the last snowfields, the spring sun also reveals some of the things that the winter months concealed with sparkling flakes: handkerchiefs, drinking bottles, snack wrappers and other rubbish.
An opportunity that was taken by the tourist association of the Region Seefeld and the localities of the Region Seefeld to call for a large-scale clean-up campaign.
From 27 to 30 April, the region was the focus of the voluntary #CleanUpPlateau Challenge. In compliance with official safety regulations, countless volunteers, local representatives, local councillors and the tourism association collected a total of over 2 tonnes of waste over four days. Each of the 203 participants who returned at least five kilos of rubbish to the maintance sites of the plateau received a gastronomic voucher for food and drink in one of the region's businesses. The sad record is 51 kg of rubbish collected by one family alone.
We would have wished the challenge to be more difficult – but it reminds us what is really important: to treat nature with the respect it deserves. After the successful cleaning campaign, the Sonnenplateau now shines (again) in all its unique splendour and looks forward to welcoming nature lovers, pleasure guests and amateur athletes back soon. On behalf of the region, we would like to thank all participants for their selfless and energetic commitment to the CleanUp Challenge and wish them bon appétit while eating their well-deserved reward.
