Seefeld 2019: HEIA NORGE!

Heia Norge! What would the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships have been without the Norwegians? They not only had the medal table firmly in their hands, but also the spectator stands. Thousands of fans came from the far north to Seefeld to cheer on their athletes. The royal family also honored the athletes. The Norwegian TV station NRK even reported on site in an exclusive TV studio. For this strong support Norway has earned gold! Here we review the best impressions in red-white-blue: Click through the picture galleries and experience the most beautiful Norwegian moments.

Best of Fans

The Norwegian fans attracted attention with creative, imaginative and elaborate costumes. Eye-catching hats, Viking caps or glasses were also popular. And the countless flags turned the stands into a sea of Norwegian flags!

The Norwegian fans are very popular in Seefeld - also from the police there were only praising words: "They are very peaceful and sociable people, the atmosphere is great and they are very patient. They are nice people through and through!", they say about the Norwegians.

Even bad weather could not harm the fans! (GEPA)

Vi går for gull!

"Vi går for gull!" ("We're going for gold!") the Norwegians could be heard shouting from the stands. With a total of 25 medals (13 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze), the nation from the north is in first place in the medal table - far ahead of all other nations. There was hardly a race after which the Norwegians had nothing to celebrate. By the way: Norway already led the medal table for the last 10 (!) World Championships. Here we have some of the most beautiful moments of jubilation of the Norwegians for you:

Royal visit for the athletes

Royal visit: The Norwegian royal couple King Harald V. and Queen Sonja did not miss the opportunity to cheer on their athletes live in Seefeld. The Norwegian athletes won several medals in front of their eyes. The Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg also traveled to Seefeld:

Norway in Seefeld: The tent city

The Norwegians have made the World Championships truly a Nordic ski festival! For this purpose they have also built a small tent city. On the meadow opposite the Hotel Berghof they have built several tents, tables and a buffet. Here one led oneself immediately like in Norway. With the biggest cordiality and hospitality the visitors were received not only at the "day of the open tent". The Norwegian cooks had prepared moose heart and sheep's head. Delicious salmon was of course also not to be missed. For those who found the Nordic food too extraordinary, they could enjoy hot drinks, schnapps and beer - all for free! Behind the Norwegian camp was a group of fans who have never missed a Nordic World Cup. Sponsors provided the sumptuous food and drink. For their hospitality we say from the bottom of our hearts "Mange takk"!

Live from Seefeld: The Norwegian TV station NRK

The Norwegian TV station NRK set up its glass studio in the heart of Seefeld to report on the wins and events at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. 65 employees worked here and greeted the professional athletes and other celebrities every day. Up to 45 minutes a day were broadcast in Norway. Learn more about the Norwegian studio here!

Tusen takk, Norge!

For the great and entertaining support we say thank you to the Norwegians - you are great! Of course, a very big THANK YOU also goes to all the fans from all over the world who strongly cheered on their athletes during the World Championships in Seefeld 2019 and created a great, relaxed, fun, peaceful and friendly atmosphere!
