The sunny spot at the heart of the high plateau

Seefeld in summer

Seefeld is that special location with connections to everywhere, where everything is possible and nothing is compulsory. Here everything is within easy reach either by bus or train – nature, excursions, adventures and the most beautiful aspects of summer. Seefeld is a genuine sunny place in its own right: life pulsates in the historic centre, the region presents its products at the Tuesday market, the parish church of St. Oswald can even boast a genuine miracle and, next to it, the 500-year-old monastery cellar brews the best beer on the high plateau. A little further on, the Wildsee promenade beckons you to take a walk, nine fabulous fairways await you at the Seefeld-Reith golf course and the most beautiful biking and hiking trails lead from the Seekirchl out into the entire region.

Chapel Seekirchl
The Seekirchl – also Heiligkreuzkirche – is probably the most famous landmark of Seefeld. Under the regency of Archduke Leopold V, construction began in 1629, but the elaborate sacral building was not completed until 1666, a full 37 years later. Originally, the baroque Seekirchl stood in the middle of the cross lake artificially created by Duke Sigismund the Coin Rich in the 15th century, which, however, was drained about 300 years later in 1808.
