Lake
The Seebensee is a shimmering greenish blue mountain lake, so clear that you can see every single stone on the bottom and identify even the tiniest of fish. And the reflection of the surrounding mountains in the crystal-clear water is simply glorious. Narrow wooden boardwalks lead around the lake over small inlets and bays and you can sit at the water’s edge and enjoy some peace and quiet while admiring the gorgeous natural backdrop around this charming spot.
A wide, traffic-free trail leads from Leutasch through the romantic valley, the Gaistal, to the Seebensee at 1,657 m above sea level. The trail is nice and wide and is ideally suited for an e-bike tour. The Hohe Munde mountain towers over you at the start of the tour, with the mountains of the Wetterstein, including the iconic Zugspitze, to the north and the Mieminger Chain to the south. The road runs parallel to the stream, the Leutascher Ache, through cool woods and past lush meadows and traditional alm refreshment stops.
There is a path from the Seebensee to the Coburger Hütte (around 250 m above the lake) where you can enjoy some good food
