Alpine pastures & huts
The picturesque Rotmoosalm at 2,030 meters above sea level is the highest hut in the Wetterstein mountains and a special stop for hikers and bikers. After an avalanche, the alpine hut was completely rebuilt in 2011 and, in addition to a real alpine farm with 230 cattles and 30 horses, it offers overnight accommodation for up to 14 people. For 34 years, the Rotmoosalm has been managed by the Neuner family. In 2021 Evi and Florian took over the Alm from his parents Gabi and Sigmund. For bikers, storage and lock-off facilities for bikes are available. The Rotmoosalm is open from May only during the summer months and then welcomes exhausted hikers with traditional home cooking, freshly tapped delicacies and wonderful mountain air on the spacious sun terrace.
OVERNIGHT STAY
After prior registration at +43 676 451 69 00, up to 14 people can spend the night at the Rotmoosalm in a spacious mattress dormitory. Modern sanitary facilities ensure special comfort at 2,030 metres above sea level.
