Alpine pastures & huts
Nestled in the southern flank of the Wetterstein Mountains, the rustic Steinerne Hüttl lives up to its name at 1,925 meters above sea level: the alpine farm (dairy cows) built from massive boulders offers guests a hearty snack and breathtaking views from the cozy sun terrace during the summer months (July to September).
Not far from the alpine hut you can also climb the Zugspitze via the "Gatterl", with 2,967 meters the highest mountain in Germany. The Steinerne Hüttl is also an ideal base camp for long hikes through the Wetterstein mountains. Bike & Hike tours are particularly popular, where the bike is left at the Tillfussalm and you hike from there on a trail to the hut.
OVERNIGHT STAY
After prior reservation, up to ten people can also stay overnight at the rustic stone hut in summer. Overnight accommodations are also available at the rustic hut upon request. Keep your eyes open on the alpine pasture, because here you can always discover native marmots.
