The traditional craft festival took place in the Seefeld pedestrian zone last weekend in imperial weather. Around 120 businesses presented their handcrafts on Tyrol's high plateau. The historical tractor parade, the traditional costume parade with over 800 participants from North and South Tyrol and numerous folk music groups rounded off what is probably the most authentic festival in the region.
Every year at the start of the summer season we ask for the regional news of our guest establishments and infrastructures. Below you will find the list of our regional news as well as our sustainability goals for the coming summer season 2023.
Yesterday, Wednesday 30.11.22, the general meeting of the Seefeld Tourism Association took place in the congress centre of the Seefeld Olympic pool. The supervisory board was newly elected for the next five years.
Vienna / Seefeld, September 1st 2022. From mid-September, what was previously two Sacher Hotels will become three in Austria: from September 15th, the Astoria Resort Seefeld will operate under the name Alpin Resort Sacher Seefeld-Tirol. With this step, the Sacher Group is entering the resort hotel industry and the family-owned company is now also setting standards in this category.
Seefeld's long-standing first name "Olympiaregion" is now old news. For a long time, the Olympic success story determined the name of the region. Now one wonders: aren't we much more than "just" Olympia? The diversity at 1,200 metres at any time of year as well as the special location between mountain and valley determine the identity of the region. That's why it has a new name as of today: Region Seefeld - Tirols Hochplateau.
TOGETHER AGAIN AT LAST! The joy of finally celebrating a joint sports festival again was written all over the faces of the participants, organisers and many volunteers. On 5th and 6th of March, the big and small athletes were welcomed and cheered on with great enthusiasm at the 51st Ganghoferlauf.
Finally, real competitions again: On 5th and 6th of March 2022, the extensive Leutasch Valley will once again be transformed into a competition arena for highly motivated cross-country skiers at Austria's most popular public race! Fittingly, this year's 51st Ganghoferlauf will be held under the motto "Together again at last".
The sunny high plateau of the Region Seefeld is a very special place in the Alps: spacious and open, framed rather than taken in by the mighty mountains – this is how guests and locals alike rave. Surrounded by the Karwendel Nature Park and the Wetterstein Mountains, the five villages in the region, Seefeld, Leutasch Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz, are perfect for active holidaymakers. On the way south, Seefeld is the first address behind the Bavarian-Tyrolean border and offers carefree holidays full of unique experiences.
With the project "Echt Nachhaltig" (Really Sustainable), the Region Seefeld has been trying to strengthen the topic of sustainability on the plateau since autumn 2020. In addition to measures for climate protection or biodiversity, the tourism association is also committed to regional food and value-added cycles.
