In the deep snowy winter months, tobogganing enthusiasts can reach the picturesque Hämmermoosalm on cleared hiking trails directly from the last car park "Salzbach" in the Gaistal. The beginner- and family-friendly ascent takes about 30 minutes through wildly romantic woodland to the rustic refreshment stop at 1417 metres above sea level. Here you can sometimes meet the harp player Albert, who provides musical accompaniment to regional delicacies and steaming hot drinks in the wooden alpine hut.

Sporty tobogganers can also take the somewhat steeper Ganghoferweg through the forest. You can reach the Hämmermoosalm via this path in about 20 minutes.

The two-kilometre-long run is freshly prepared when there is fresh snow and thus guarantees optimal conditions for tobogganing enthusiasts of all ages. Alternatively, you can also make the ascent by horse-drawn carriage.
