Winter hiking in the Region Seefeld

Walking through a freshly snow-covered landscape on well-maintained paths is a pure delight, and with a bit of luck, you’ll be able to do this under bright blue skies and sunshine. The five villages of the Seefeld region – Tirol’s High Plateau – offer an extensive winter hiking network with 142 kilometers of cleared and signposted trails. Enjoy relaxed hikes and walks on wide, flat paths through a beautiful, untouched winter wonderland during your winter holiday in Austria.

For something truly unique, embark on Tyrol’s first winter multi-day hike, featuring four stages and varying accommodations, or try the five-day star-shaped Seefeld High Plateau Winter Multi-day Hike, where you’ll return each night to your cozy base in Seefeld. Additionally, you can enjoy 35 kilometers of snowshoe hiking across seven routes, and there are 12 winter trail running routes available on the winter hiking paths. Perfect conditions for an unforgettable winter adventure!

Instead of shaded paths along the road, here you are immediately immersed in nature.

Equipment tip: poles and spikes

A good pair of walking poles is always advisable and will provide you with extra support and comfort. If you want to feel really sure-footed while walking, bring along some spikes for your walking boots. The spikes have been specially developed for winter use and give you good support on snow and ice. Poles and spikes are available in the sports shops in the region. Snowline is a well-regarded make, as is the Austrian brand, Komperdell.
