This medium-difficult winter hike to the Wettersteinhütte is one of the most beautiful and panoramic hikes in the region. The hike starts at the P2 (Stupfer) parking lot in the Gaistal valley, following the signs to the Wettersteinhütte. If you would like to use the quite demanding ascent as a natural toboggan run afterwards, take your favorite sled up here. After an initial steep section of about 400 meters you reach the hiking trail (No. 9) to the Wettersteinhütte. On the way, the forest opens up panoramic passages with views of the surrounding mountain peaks and the Hohe Munde.
