Summer

The first address behind the border! Reasons for a vacation in the Seefeld region

The Seefeld region is the first address behind the Bavarian-Tyrolean border. The sunny balcony above Innsbruck and between Karwendel and Wetterstein attracts in summer with well-known top level, a huge vacation variety - and a lot of news.

Vacation just over the border

Since vaccination dates have become more important than vacation planning, the vacation season has lost some of its lightheartedness. Will the virus let me go on vacation or not? Cheap airlines and cruises may not be the very best idea this summer - vacationing just over the border is. And the first "vacation getaway" on the way south is Seefeld in Tyrol. Because the region between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck offers all kinds of advantages for carefree summer vacations - guaranteed without queasy feelings.

Short ways to vacation happiness

An average feature film lasts about 100 minutes. As long as the journey from Munich to Seefeld. Relaxed on the Garmisch highway, then scenic past Mittenwald and border control and toll-free to Seefeld and the western gateway to the Karwendel.

Easy arrival in the Seefeld region

If you're looking for environmental protection and deep relaxation - and records - take the train. Seefeld is home to the highest ICE train station in the Alps. It is located at 1,180 meters above sea level. The journey from Berlin, for example, takes just 6:40 hours. So the summer vacation in the mountains begins right at the train platform at home.

There is no substitute for real vacation quality. Only by top holiday quality.

Hiking, biking and golfing in summer, cross-country skiing, skiing and tobogganing in winter: The Seefeld region has always attracted visitors with active vacations of the higher quality kind. The south-facing balcony high above Innsbruck and the Tyrolean Inn Valley always gets an extra dose of sun. Thus, the summer season on the open plateau begins much earlier than in many a narrow mountain valley - namely at the beginning of May. And it only ends late in "Golden November", when it seamlessly transitions into the cross-country skiing season with the snowfarming trail.

In between, the Seefeld hosts - from the loving bed and breakfast to the 5-star superior hotel - look forward to their guests from neighboring Germany. Typically Tyrolean: All hosts are very accommodating in terms of booking and cancellation procedures. Those who book in the Tyrolean neighborhood can be sure that their vacation will be a dream.

Seefeld summer fairy tale: one vacation, a thousand possibilities

Seefeld's top location is the perfect playground for active vacationers. Where the world's cross-country skiing elite crowned their world champions in the dream winter of 2019, trail runners and Nordic walkers will find their world-class territory in the dream summer: no less than 266 kilometers of trails! Hikers and mountain climbers can even look forward to 650 kilometers. Here at the Seekirchl in the west of Seefeld, the most beautiful bike tours also start and end in the direction of the sunny side of the Wetterstein, Mieminger Kette and Karwendel - whether with or without electric assistance. Fancy some more action? There's a brand-new bike park at Katzenkopf. And at the top of the Seefelder Spitze there's a fantastic via ferrata. The Wildsee lake with its two lidos is practically in the center of the village. And if you want to swing a golf club, you'll find two fantastic courses at the two golf clubs Seefeld Reith and Seefeld-Wildmoos.

Really long enough cooked yourself!

It's time to put the wooden spoon in the hands of other people (who have learned!) and to indulge in culinary delights outside your own four walls. From exclusive toque restaurants to specialty eateries to genuine, traditional Tyrolean cuisine, the Seefeld region offers a wide culinary palette for gourmets and foodies. A hot tip for followers of the vegan diet is the Naturhotel "Aufatmen" in Leutasch. One has the pleasurable agony of the choice with "Taste OF Seefeld". The innovative combination of the four lifestyle and event venues ZOMM in the Meilerhof, Woods, Paulys and the Bräukeller of the Klosterbräu sends guests on a culinary world tour in the heart of the region. The innkeepers of the Culinarium Alpentraum have also joined forces to offer Tyrolean cuisine at the highest level. Anyone who stops at one of the seven inns run by the Culinarium innkeepers is guaranteed to find the best culinary delights that Tyrol has to offer!

Those who want to combine palate with mountain pleasure will find genuine hospitality and culinary summit experiences at the more than 60 mountain huts around the Seefeld Plateau. Really recommendable: the Nördlinger Hütte with its spectacular location, its many activities and its delicious food. The Rauthhütte, which has received an award from Gault Millau. And the Tillfussalm, with the best products from its own alpine cattle. So that every type of hut finds the right alpine pasture, here's the ultimate hut guide.
