SUMMER
Fun without limits: Tips for families
For children, the high plateau is a huge playground full of adventures and discoveries. A magical place with mysterious treasures to be explored with all senses and curiosity. The Geisterklamm gorge is an experience for the whole family and anyone who wants to get up close and personal with wild nature.
The world is full of wonders in the eyes of a child. Being outdoors with children also allows adults to see their surroundings from a new perspective. There are no dull moments in the open air - especially not in the Geisterklamm gorge in Leutasch.
Huge rock formations and thundering waterfalls cast a spell. Bridges and footbridges lead over wild waters, while grid floors open up a view deep down into the world of water fairies and water dwarves. Every leaf, every stone and every animal tells its own story and if you listen and look very carefully, you might even see the gorge spirit and his companions. Far back, when you enter the forest through the gorge gate, their world begins with a castle of bubbling whirlpools and eddies.
Where hellish waters and ghost pools, witches' cauldrons and devil's water have formed a world of water and stone for many decades, the gorge spirit and its nature spirits Flora and Einstein are still up to mischief today - whimsical but loving creatures. Hard as ice and bubbling like spray, the gorge spirit has always ensured that everything changes and yet remains as it is. It knows every stone and every little moss plant, looks after everyone and settles every dispute. But because he has been doing this for a very long time, he no longer feels like it. When his two friends Einstein and Flora hear about this, they are horrified and ask the visitors to the Geisterklamm for help: ‘Help us to convince the gorge ghost to stay with us, because there's nowhere better than the Geisterklamm,’ say Flora and Einstein, and they are right.

On the approximately 3,000 metre long gorge circuit, the shy ruler has set up a few very special places for his visitors that provide a deeper insight into his spirit gorge and give adventurers the opportunity to get a little closer to him. At interactive stations, the gorge spirit tells all sorts of mysterious stories from his realm, about water phenomena and river dwellers, flowers, scents and the Ice Age in the Alps. And once you have crossed the ghost grotto and the dizzying bridges over the spirit gorge unscathed, you can go in search of the ghost's treasure near the panoramic bridge. At the gorge exit, the waterfall trail awaits the particularly brave, ending spectacularly at the 23 metre high waterfall. The natural wonder of the spirit gorge invites you to discover all its secrets and stories and it would be a real shame if the gorge ghost were to leave its home.
The atmosphere in the spirit gorge is particularly mystical in the twilight: if you enter the gorge in the early morning or at dusk, you will encounter ghostly patches of mist, dark grottos, cool ghostly winds and in some places even a quiet whispering in the rock. The large and small gorge circuits and the Mittenwald connecting circuit offer very different routes to experience the mysterious spirit gorge. The newly designed themed trail also allows visitors to experience new things, take in different perspectives and discover the secrets of the gorge.
The Spirit Gorge
The spirit gorge has been delighting visitors for some time now with a newly designed themed trail. Visitors of all ages can hike through the gorge on various routes and discover it in a fun way. Captivating stories, numerous games and interesting facts await, as well as an authentic experience of nature between the rushing waters and the picturesque mountain forest. The trail starts and ends at the spirit gorge car park. For a relaxed journey, we recommend the bus (bus stop ‘Geisterklamm’), which is included in the guest card.
Multitalent Katzenkopf
In summer, the Katzenkopf becomes one big adventure world for the whole family. From leisurely to action-packed, the mountain is a true universal genius when it comes to leisure activities. Beautiful hiking trails, fast trails in the bike park and extensive mountain bike trails harmonise perfectly here. Fun is the order of the day at the Katzenkophütte, with a magnificent panorama to boot. With your guest card, you also receive a 50 per cent discount on one ascent and descent per stay.
Fun tip: Disc golf is played at nine locations on the Katzenkopf, where a disc is sunk into baskets provided for this purpose. An overview, the discs and score cards are available at the Katzenkopfhütte.

Animal experiences
Not only dogs are welcome on Tyrol's high plateau, you can also get very close to many other animals here. At the farm of the Tyrolean bio alpacas in Seefeld (near the Triendlsäge), for example, you can watch the cosy animals and go for a walk with them by appointment. At "Sigi's Sauhaufen" petting zoo run by the Seyrling family, also in Seefeld, there are mini goats, miniature donkeys, floppy-eared rabbits and many other adorable farm animals to stroke and love.

Nature experience and spirit of discovery
It's not always easy to get children interested in hiking. If you add an adventure factor to the hike, it becomes easier. Themed trails combine nature, culture and education with playful information, with many interactive stations inviting children to actively participate. In addition to the spirit gorge, the bee nature trail in Reith with its bee hotel is truly unique. Along the Reither forest trail, 14 stations and display boards provide clear and explanatory information about these useful insects. The colourful goings-on in the beehive can be safely observed through a glass window at the bee hotel.

Water worlds
The fascination that water exerts on us humans is deeply rooted. Tyrol's high plateau is rich in places for relaxation and tranquillity or fun and games. With the Olympiabad Seefeld and the Erlebniswelt Alpenbad Leutasch, there are two swimming pools in the region where you can let off steam on various waterslides, among other things. In addition, the Wildsee lake, where the Strandperle outdoor pool and the Strandcafé Sonja forest pool are located, and the lake Möserer See are refreshing bathing lakes for a dip in the cool water.

Really great playgrounds
On Tyrol's high plateau, nature is the biggest and most beautiful playground of all. There are also designated play and sunbathing areas where you can let off steam and have fun.
